Short CV Egbert Beuving

In 1980 Egbert Beuving received his Master of Science degree at the Technical University of Delft (in the Netherlands) in Pavement engineering. 

 

After getting his degree we worked for 10 years as Technical Manager for Netherlands Pavement Consultants. 

 

In 1990 he joined CROW, the Dutch Information and Technology Centre for Transport and Infrastructure, as a project manager. 

Here he coordinated National research activities in the area of road construction, recycling, and asphalt pavements. 

Besides being a member of several European Committees, such as COST-Actions and a Technical RILEM Committee on Preventing Reflective Cracking in Pavements, he was chairman of COST Action 336 ‘Falling Weight Deflectometer’.

 

In 2001 Egbert started working for the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA). Here he started as Technical Director and he was the focal point for EAPA on technical issues. 

 

In 2009 he became the Director of the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) and since 2013 he is the Secretary-General of EAPA.

 

He has been involved in the organisation of many conferences, including 4 Eurasphalt & Eurobitume Congresses. He also wrote many publications and give many presentations related to (asphalt) pavements.

 

Next to that he is a member of several European Standardization (CEN) Committees and other international committees and is convenor of CEN TC227 WG1 “Bituminous Mixtures”.

 

Photography is his hobby and he was able to combine this in a nice way with his work for EAPA. He provided many pictures for the EAPA website, EAPA papers, EAPA brochures, EAPA newsletters, and EAPA magazines and other websites, publications, and magazines. 

 

Since January 2019 his focus is on asphalt consulting and photography.
